It may look like I failed. I was certainly off to a wobbly start working toward better health – eating better, intermittent fasting, etc. I haven’t failed. This is just what it looks like while it’s all coming together.
There seems to be something greater than myself that is in agreement with my vision, and it seems to be helping me along. Things are beginning to fall into place.
My acupuncture doctor told me that I should create a new habit. He said it should be something I enjoy, but it shouldn’t be so big that I give up on it. He suggested 30 minutes every day. He said he runs every day and when he doesn’t, it feels uncomfortable because it’s a habit. So, that’s what I’m working on now. I am practicing creating a habit that I will do every day.
I had my exercise bike moved into the living room, so it will be more convenient to ride while I’m watching an educational/motivational YouTube video, (or Shark Tank or Gold Rush). π I also received my plant-based meals from Sprinly, so I am creating a habit of eating healthier food each day.
One thing I’ve learned for sure in my 51 years of life is that failure is not what we think. It’s not bad. It’s actually required if you want to do anything worthwhile in your life.
We can’t really accomplish anything without some failure along the way. Want some examples? When we first learn to ride a bike, we are wobbly at first. We fall. We get skinned knees. We get back on and get better at it. When we first learned to type on a keyboard, we didn’t always hit the right numbers or letters. We practice. We get better. When we began writing and spelling words, we didn’t spell everything correctly. We probably still don’t spell EVERYTHING correctly, but that doesn’t stop us from writing or texting. When we first learned arithmetic, coloring within the lines, swimming, golfing, playing the piano (you get the idea); we most likely learned through attempting, failing a little (or a lot), and beginning again.
My WHY is bigger than my fear of failure this time. My desire is boiling at 212 degrees. I am ready. I am willing. I am going for it. What’s your vision? A more important question (to think about) may be, what’s your WHY?
