Why are you broken, my child?
Because, I’ve lost my way.
Why are you lost, my child?
Because, I feel empty inside.
Why do you feel empty, my child?
Because, I make so many mistakes.
Why do you make mistakes, my child?
I don’t know. I don’t know how to respond sometimes, so I react.
Why do you react, my child?
Because, it’s my defense mechanism.
Why do you have a defense mechanism, my child?
Because, I don’t want to be hurt again.
Why have you been hurt, my child?
Because, there are other hurt people; it just happens.
Why are there hurt people, my child?
Because, we forget who we truly are.
Who are you, my child?
I am yours. I am a child of God.
Then why are you broken, my child?
I’m no longer broken. I remember now. Thank you, God. I can feel your unconditional, all-encompassing love.
